Come cozy up with us and let yourself be mesmerised by the music of language in our Poetry Slam Night. Featuring special guest facilitator, Farhanah Diyanah, and many other talented writers, this programme brings spoken word to the Malay Heritage Centre as we explore the modern reality of the Malay community through the lens of our favourite folktales and legends. The poetry slam complements the exhibition by providing a platform for your voices and lived experiences to be heard. Even the audience will get a chance to share their thoughts in our conversation segments. Even more exciting is that both English and Malay spoken word poems will be performed! We bet you’ve never heard of Malay spoken word. Come explore new styles of poetry with us! We hope that through the safe space the arts offer, you would join us in these important conversations that invite us to think further about our community, identity, and culture.
